Studio of Rosalind Whitehouse,

Accredited Paintings Conservator - Restorer

Conservation and restoration of European oil paintings from 1500 to the present day, offering in addition a specialist knowledge and experience of the work of many twentieth century painters.

Charges and insurance.

Fees for work carried out are charged at an hourly rate.

Estimates can sometimes be given at no charge, but work of any complexity will require time for consideration, for cleaning tests and a written report.

(See Examination page.)

Reports commissioned from conservation scientists are charged extra.

(See Conservation Scientists page.)

Collection/delivery is charged at an hourly rate unless transport companies are commissioned to move the artwork, in which case their charges apply. Insurance charges appropriate to the value of the paintings to be transported are extra in the case of very high value paintings.

When accepting insurance responsibility for a given artwork either for transport or on the premises, a recent valuation is helpful.

Written receipts and, in the case of larger projects, contracts are used so that all parties are clear about the extent of work and of their responsibilities.
